Mila Schon Scarves

Silk Scarves1bMila Schon was in her thirties when she made her entrance into the world of high fashion. This elegant lady had no sewing experience, but born from wealthy Italian aristocratic parents she knew very well what cutting edge style was and was not shopping and buying in Paris. With a small group of workers, she set up a workshop in Milan in 1958.  It was in January 1965, an invitation from Giovan Giorgini, Mila Schön presented her first collection at Florence's Palazzo Pitti. Schon who rose to the top of fashion with use of double-faced fabric, geometric patterns, and monochromatic designs.

"I created clothes like I wanted them -- without lining, with the inside just like the outside; double-faced fabric gave me the idea of order and cleanliness," Schon once said.  Schon died at 92, just days before Milan was set to pay homage to her 50 years in the fashion business.  The Mila Schön Group has become an empire with boutiques all over the world.
