Roberto Cavalli is known for his vibrantly colored prints, and animal prints have been a signature look since his first slow in the early 70's. Cavalli's artistic pursuits came about at the age of 17 when he enrolled at the Institute of Art of Florence. It was there where he first began to experiment with use of paint on textile fabrics. His vibrant floral motifs caught attention of several influential Italian textile companies. Later on in Cavalli's career, his advanced technology with leather printing gained the respect of major fashion labels such as Pierre Cardin and Hermes whom became clients.
His signature style is bold colored prints and vibrant patterns. He gets his inspiration from nature as his tendency for animal prints and jungle and flower motifs are a constant theme in most of his collections. It is said that he travels throughout the world with a digital camera ready in hand, ready to capture a picture that he can transform into a new motif. Roberto Cavalli is a designer with timeless but dramatic pieces that flatter the female form. Roberto Cavalli is one of the most well-regarded fashion artists of his time.
